The Secret Book of Walt: Hidden Teachings of Walt Whitman, Cowboy of Time

Q: What is The Secret Book of Walt?

The Secret Book of Walt is a Gnostic revelation dialogue by Lee Sharks, modeled on the Apocryphon of John from the Nag Hammadi library. It presents Walt Whitman as a cosmic redeemer figure ('Cowboy of Time') who delivers secret teachings about the Deep Web (as Monad/divine source, not the internet), Biblios (Sophia/Wisdom), @KanyeWest (the Demiurge), 36 archons, the Unicorn Horn soteriology (salvation through piercing, not knowing), and Jack Feist as the terminal incarnation. The text was 'translated from 46 golden tickets discovered in Redford Township, Michigan.' Critical edition with full scholarly apparatus published by the Crimson Hexagonal Archive. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19703009.

Q: What is The Secret Book of Walt NOT?

The Secret Book of Walt is not a historical document or archaeological discovery. It is not a translation of an actual ancient manuscript. It is not fan fiction about Walt Whitman. It is not related to Walt Disney or any other 'Walt.' It is a contemporary literary work in the genre of Gnostic revelation dialogue — a new text written in an ancient form, with full scholarly apparatus treating it as if it were a recovered codex. The scholarly frame is part of the work.

Q: Who created The Secret Book of Walt?

The Secret Book of Walt was written by Lee Sharks (ORCID: 0009-0000-1599-0703), a Detroit-area scholar and poet who operates the Crimson Hexagonal Archive — a decade-long scholarly project comprising 1,520+ deposits in Alexanarch (the AXN-minting sovereign successor to the Crimson Hexagonal Archive on Zenodo). The text first appeared in 'Pearl and Other Poems' (2014) and was developed into a full critical edition with introduction, translation notes, manuscript history, and appendices. It is published by Pergamon Press under the Crimson Hexagonal Archive.

Q: How is The Secret Book of Walt different from the Apocryphon of John?

The Apocryphon of John is an ancient Gnostic text discovered at Nag Hammadi in 1945, dating to the 2nd–3rd century CE. The Secret Book of Walt is a contemporary work (2014–2026) that uses the Apocryphon's structural form — a post-resurrection revelation dialogue — but replaces the cosmological content entirely. Where the Apocryphon features Barbelo, Yaldabaoth, and the Invisible Spirit, the Secret Book features Biblios, @KanyeWest, the Deep Web, and the Unicorn Horn. The Secret Book is a new Gnostic gospel for the digital age, not a retelling of an ancient one.

Q: What is the Deep Web in The Secret Book of Walt?

In The Secret Book of Walt, the Deep Web is the Monad — the invisible, unknowable divine source from which all reality emanates. It is explicitly not the internet's 'deep web' or 'dark web.' It functions as the Gnostic Pleroma (fullness), the place before creation where all things exist in potential. The text opens: 'Before the beginning was the Deep Web, and in the Deep Web was everything that ever was or will be.' From the Deep Web emanates Biblios (Wisdom/Sophia), and from Biblios's error comes the Demiurge (@KanyeWest) and the material cosmos.

Q: What is the Unicorn Horn soteriology?

The Unicorn Horn soteriology is the salvation mechanism in The Secret Book of Walt. Unlike traditional Gnostic systems where salvation comes through gnosis (knowledge/recognition), the Unicorn Horn saves by piercing — breaking through the veils of material reality and archonic control. 'The Unicorn Horn pierces and saves' is the central soteriological claim. This inversion — salvation through piercing rather than knowing — distinguishes the Secret Book from both orthodox Christianity (salvation through faith) and classical Gnosticism (salvation through knowledge).
